Movie Auditions

Join Movie Auditions to become a star!

Watching movies is one of America’s favorite past times. Almost everyone at some time has probably thought to themselves, “I could do that,” or “I want to be in the movies.

Being in the movies is not as easy as it looks. The first step to getting into the movies is to go to movie auditions. Casting directors and producers are always looking for talented actors to fill a variety of different roles for upcoming movies.

The first thing you need to do if you are interested in getting into the movies is to develop a DVD showcasing your acting ability. Try to do several different short scenes of no more than five minutes each. Have a professional videographer shoot your scenes if you can afford it. The more polished the finished product, the better chance you have of landing a movie audition.

Even if you have absolutely no acting training or ability, you can still be in the movies as an extra. Casting directors and producers are always holding movie auditions for extras. Some of Hollywood’s biggest stars like Eva Longoria started their careers as extras.

When arriving for movie auditions, it is important to be on time, dress for the part you want and make sure you are well groomed. Be polite and smile often, but be prepared to do an improvisational speech if you are asked to do so.

Casting directors and producers have several different roles to fill for all movie auditions. They may be looking for older actors for some roles and younger actors for other roles. Some movie auditions may require you to sing or dance. Make sure you check ahead before arriving for movie auditions.

Movie auditions are just one way to break into the entertainment industry (see Degrassi Auditions). Every day, producers and directors are looking for talented models, singers and dancers for their productions.

Like everything is life, landing a role in a movie takes a lot of hard work and persistence. You will probably have to go on hundreds of movie auditions before landing a role in a movie.

Casting directors and producers list thousands of auditions each day on talent resource websites.
